Emulsions Cutting & Grinding Fluids

Emulsions are suspensions of oil droplets in water made possible by blending the oil with emulsifying and blending agents. An emulsion will have a milky appearance with an oil droplet size in the range 0.005mm (0.0002") to 0.002mm (0.00008"). They provide good cooling with moderate lubricity.

TRIM SOL™

TRIM SOL™ is a soluble oil (emulsion) coolant concentrate which is the world standard general-purpose multi-metal coolant for general machining of ferrous and nonferrous materials. It has the lubricity and "guts" necessary to do heavy-duty machining center work and still provide the wetting and cooling necessary for high-speed turning and grinding operations.

  • Proven to be highly effective in controlling built-up edge (BUE)
  • Has a very wide application range and is often used in such diverse operations as production surface and centerless grinding, heavy-duty broaching, gear hobbing and replacing straight oil on some types of screw machines

Long-life Emulsion

TRIM® E206 is a soluble oil (emulsion) coolant that performs extremely well in a wide range of machining operations on ferrous and nonferrous materials. It has the lubricity and "guts" necessary to do heavy-duty machining center work and still provide the wetting and cooling necessary to do high-speed turning and grinding operations.

  • A very versatile product which works in a wide range of operations such as heavy-duty broaching, gear hobbing, production, surface and centerless grinding, and replacing straight oil on some types of screw machines

Long-life Emulsion

TRIM® E709 is high-quality, universal soluble oil which requires minimal maintenance in even the most demanding fluid management systems. It has broad application in machining and grinding on a wide range of materials. The high levels of both chemical and mechanical lubricity in this product handle the tough machining and grinding jobs. The stable and predictable performance of E709 makes it a first choice for high-quality, consistent parts manufacturing.

TRIM® E738

Magnesium Machining Emulsion

TRIM® E738 is a revolutionary new cutting fluid for the machining of wrought and cast magnesium alloys. E737 is nitrite, triazine and phenol free and has extraordinary resistance to splitting of its emulsion.

  • E738 is a magnesium specific fluid that practically eliminates the hydrogen generation, residue, and splitting issues associated with machining magnesium-based alloys with water- based fluids
  • Low hydrogen generation means lower risk of fire than with other water based fluids or straight cutting oils

Chlorine-free High Performance Emulsion

TRIM® E925 utilizes a proprietary lubricity package to deliver exceptional surface finish and tool life on difficult-to-machine aerospace materials. Designed to lower total cost and improve manufacturing efficiency thanks to extended sump life. Environmentally friendly emulsion is free of boron, chlorinated paraffins, and other halogens. Mild contact nature and low initial-charge odor provide an operator friendly environment.

Very High-pressure, Pratt & Whitney Approved Emulsion

TRIM<sup>®</sup> VHP™ E200PW

TRIM® VHP™ E200PW is a chemical emulsion (soluble oil) coolant that specializes in heavy-duty machining and creepfeed grinding of aircraft alloys. Pratt & Whitney has approved this product for use on all materials. This approval applies to both Pratt & Whitney facilities and authorized subcontractors. The Pratt & Whitney approval number is PMC 9390.

  • Pratt & Whitney (PMC 9390) approved for use in all grinding and machining operations on all metals. VHP® E200PW contains a proven and highly effective, nonchlorinated, extreme-pressure additive to control built-up edge and wheel loading

Very High-pressure, Chlorine-free Emulsion

TRIM<sup>®</sup> VHP™ E210

TRIM® VHP™ E210 is a specialized heavy duty chemical emulsion soluble oil coolant concentrate. This product is a proven performer in heavy duty machining, grinding and some stamping operations. It will even run in very high-pressure situations with little-to-no foam.

  • Is compatible with a very wide range of material including steels, stainless steels, and aluminum alloys
  • Low-to-no foam even in very high-pressure operations such as creep-feed grinding, Ejector® drilling, and gundrilling or gunreaming
  • Has sufficient boundary lubrication to do roll-form threading in many materials
  • Superior anti-weld properties without chlorinated EP additives
  • Will keep machines very clean while leaving a soft, fluid film for ease of cleaning and reduced machine maintenance costs
  • Requires no special disposal or recycling techniques

TRIM® VXX

Extreme Lubricity Emulsion

TRIM® VXX is a soluble oil (chemical emulsion) coolant designed to do the heaviest duty machining operations. VXX is often used as a replacement for straight cutting and grinding oils. It contains very high levels of EP additives including stable chlorine and sulfur. Additional friction modifiers, including sulfurized fats and particle size modification technology, are used to reduce the mechanical friction seen in many heavy-duty machining and grinding operations.

  • Even with all these EP additives and friction modifiers, VXX will not stain “white and yellow” metals
  • Cools better than straight oil to allow higher metal removal rates without heat damage
  • Contains a proven and highly effective extreme pressure (EP) additive to control built-up edge and prevent wheel loading and packing
